Holy New Post Batman!
Posted by Zach on 02-26-2009 09:38:24 EST![]()
Hmm...where to start...it has been a few months since I've last posted and recently I have come to the conclusion that old school Batman references are awesome. And I am also running out of cool pictures to put with these posts. So, I decided to go with a nice throwback. Enjoy!
But, besides that, what have I been doing/working on? Well, to answer that question, a decent amount of projects. Most importantly I am working in conjunction with my Comm 347 (Junior Narrative) film class to produce a short film about an arbitrary detective named Alabaster Jones. I am one of the directors of the project so I am really hoping that it turns out well. Currently we are in the pre-production and casting phases of the film. I'll provide more information on that film as more becomes available.
Also, I am in the process of developing my own short film that I discussed previously -- The Love Loss Theory. Filming has yet to begin on that project as well, but the ball should get rolling rather soon.
And besides all of that I have a few other small projects I am working on that should be done shortly. I will post them as soon as they are completed. My editing tasks should be much easier now that I have the ability to hook my camera up to my own personal computer. Perhaps this will lead to some video blogs? It's a little too early to tell, but it is a good possibility. I will post any and all updates as I receive them.
Much love...always throwing treces.

32 - The Brent Carter Story
Posted by Zach on 12-13-2008 10:45:23 ESTWhoo! I finally finished my documentary about Brent Carter. It took a little while and I posted a few messages saying that it was in production -- but now it is finally completed. Overall, I am pretty happy with how it turned out. In reality it was my directorial debut. I pitched my documentary idea, it was chosen, and I was assigned a crew. So, that was a huge thrill. And my crew (Bob, Marc, and Nick) really helped me out. Also, my roommate Matt was a huge help too. He provided me with game footage and celebration footage from after the Penn State vs. Michigan State game. With all this help I was able to create the documentary below. I hope you guys enjoy it as much as I enjoyed making it.

Two Updates In One Day...
Posted by Zach on 11-20-2008 20:40:53 EST![]()
Holy awesomeness Batman! This is exciting, uncharted territory we are entering here. I came back to provide another update this evening because I have a few film projects in the works that deserve recognition.
Firstly, my documentary 32 -- which focuses on the football career of Brent Carter -- is currently undergoing filming. It is going quite well so far and I am really excited to share a finish product with everyone.
Second, my short narrative film, The Jungle Juice Theory is nearly fully written and finalized. However, it is still undergoing a few more minor tweaks. Once the screenplay is finished, filming will begin shortly thereafter.
Third, I have began writing a feature length film. The film is based on the Innocence Long Lost short I previously created. There is no expected release date on this project at this time. Writing takes place when I feel inspiration.
Lastly, I am in talks with Frankie Chicco about producing Chicco Suave 2 -- based off of the Chicco Suave mockumentary below. This project is still very much up in the air and it is currently a pipe dream. But, if all goes well, filming could take place within the next month or two.
I have a lot on my plate. But, I am extremely excited about each subsequent project. I am even more exciting to share my work with all of my fans. It is the greatest thrill in the film industry to have your hard-work well received. That is all I can ask for.

Chicco Suave
Posted by Zach on 11-20-2008 12:59:44 ESTYo, yo, yo America. I am just going to assume all of America visits my website because I dream big. But, that is besides the point. The real matter at hand here is that I finally got my first ever film project online. It is entitled Chicco Suave and it chronicles Frankie Chicco and his desire to be the best tennis player there ever was. It came out a little dark when I uploaded it, so I apologize for that. But, I hope you enjoy it. You may view it below.

Yay for new stuff...soon.

Well, I haven't updated in a little bit. So, I felt it was a bit overdue that I did. Currently, I have a bunch of things in production/pre-production/post-production. Specifically, I have three projects that I am devoting my attention too. And each of the projects fit into separate film genres.
First, I have an experimental film in post-production. All of the footage has been shot and is ready to be edited. The editing is expected to take place within the next few days. Half of the experimental film was shot using an HD video camera while the other half was shot using a 1960's Bolex (film camera). The film footage is currently in the process of being unconverted to a 16:9 HD ratio without stretching. A sample clip can be found here. Racecar and Bolex'd are the working titles. The expected release date of that project is Wednesday, November 12th.
The second project I am working on is a documentary entitled 32. It documents Brent Carter and his college football career at Penn State. Filming is expected to begin within the next week and continue for approximately a month. A brief plot synopsis follows.
Synopsis: Penn State running back Brent Carter was on the top of his game; running and blocking as his Penn State Nittany Lions surged to a 6-0 start. But, in the blink of an eye, his season and dreams were cut short as Derek Williams ran a punt return back for a touchdown. Injured on a routine blocking assignment, Brent must now deal with the devastating nature of season ending surgery as his teammates surge to a potential Big Ten championship and Rose Bowl run.
And finally, a narrative film project entitled The Jungle Juice Theory is in pre-production. The script has been written and is currently being finalized. Casting is expected to begin soon with the filming to follow shortly thereafter. So, as it stands, filming is expected to begin in early to mid December.
So, in conclusion, here are some tentative release dates for the previously noted projects.
